I just got a macbook pro and i created an account for myself which is password protected. Now whenever it is shutdown then it logs off but if i close it and open it back up its still on. Elderly friends care?

I have an elderly friend who is 82 years old. He never told anyone he had epilespy, but he has told me that he has had strokes. He wouldn't let me call anyone. Finally, he had a seizure and possibly a mini stroke. For two days he was on the floor crawling around and the neighbor found him. When I found out through the preacher that he was in the hospital, I called him. He had somehow lost his memory. I thought maybe his memory was going before he got hurt, but I couldn't tell to well over the phone. He's always been paranoid of people trying to steal from him. I was able to get the phone number of his elderly sisters who are half way across the country; we are in Washington though. He told me not to call his sisters but I felt it was my duty. He went into the hospital when the next door neighbor found him. He lives a ways from me. Now he is out of the hospital and in a rehab center. This friend of his has a husband who is an attorney. She came over and did a will for him while he is still in the rehab center. She is charging him $500 and she told me that she wants to become his guardian and put him in a rest home and take control of his finances. I'm concerned that she is after his money. I called this sisters and told them I knew of a place that is way cheaper than the rest home, but he may have too many problems for this place. Next, I told his sisters that my daughter is a NAR and could care for him if he could get a place in town. My daughter doesn't drive and must take the bus. He lives way out in the country when he's not ill; before he went in the hosp and rehab. Next, I told their sisters I could get guardianship of him and bring him back to them by driving him across the country. I have also suggested to them that they have children or grandchildren take care of him. There are so many options, but he won't take anyone's help, not even let anyone change his depends. He can't remember anything hardly. I just want him to be safe, cared for, and loved. We have square danced together for 6 years. I don't know what to do for him and his sisters aren't quite sure what to do either since he would never move back east where they are. He never wants help. What can I do? I don't want to marry him or things like that. I can't care for him right now. I have a 14 year old son and three adult children that run me ragged; the oldest is 31. I'm also going to college after all these years finally. Something I've always wanted to do. Even if I quit college, I think his care is beyond what I can physically do since I've broke many years ago. He is wheel chair bound since the mishap. Your grandpa sounds like a wise man! And I think there is a lot of truth to what he's saying. I remember once, I went on a date with a guy I had met a couple of times before and he said 'you look lovely'. Husband and I were Legal Guardians for our young grandchildren (ages 5 & 6) from Sept. 2006 until March 2011, because parents were divorcing and not getting along. He is an alcoholic, drug addict, liar, cheat and thief (though only arrested and charged with 2 DUIs) and had just married his third wife before he was 30. We live on opposite coasts of the U.S. During the summer of 2010, grandchildren told us and many others (Child Protective Services, Sheriffs, 2 therapists and others) their parents had abused them horribly. (Imagine psychopathic behaviors and words.) We fought the petition as best we could. Unfortunately, the only way the father could get the children was to mount an offense against me, their grandmother. He convinced the court appointed therapist I am crazy and made the children lie about the abuse and put unthinkable words and ideas into their mouths and minds. I never did (nor ever would) do such an abusive thing to my precious granchidlren (nor to anyone). There was no evidence to support these allegations. Actually, if these allegation were true in my opinion I should have been sent to jail for child abuse. Instead, the court used the report to get the children out of the court system and back with a parent. Mother is even less able to care for children and doesn't really want to. Here is my dilemma; these lies are in the court record now. Should I write something to the court in response to defend myself? Is all this going to come back at me if I want to get a job working with children, again? I used to be a school teacher. Will it seem like I am guilty of I don't respond? (We had a lousy lawyer who only told us not to respond to any allegations over the months and at the end. I don't trust him one bit so I didn't ask him.) We bought a house on land contract 2 years ago and now the owner is filing bankruptcy. What do we do?

We bought a house by land contract 2 years ago. We have never missed a payment and the mortgage is, as of now, paid up to date. The guy we purchased from (the guy who still holds a mortgage on the property) was a small business owner and his business went under. Now, he is filing Chapter 13 bankruptcy because of his business losses, but this only allows him to protect the house he personally lives in, despite the fact the mortgage on this property is good. His lawyer is telling us to just keep making the mortgage payments (directly to the mortgage company rather than thru him) and well be good because it's not in default. The mortgage is thru GMAC, who we hear are not fun to work with. Are we going lose the house? Should we stop making payments? Scared sh*tless right now, we have three children, have invested a lot of money into the house on renovations (roughly $10K), and we recieved the $8K Home Buyers Tax Credit when we signed the contract. What is wrong with me?

Some information about what has been going on, I'm 15 years old I have been dealing with panic attacks and anxiety all my life. I got used to it convinced myself it was normal. My dad and step mom got a divorce about a year ago and of course my real mom and him split up when I was just about 2. I got to see my real mom every weekend until her husband at the time started to beat and rape me, I never got to see my mom again after my dad got full guardianship. Back to last year I started to notice my anxiety a lot more and stopped doing normal things like hanging out with friends party's ETC. My dad takes little interest in me and always has. I really don't know how to go about getting help, when i bring up anything of this topic in front of my dad he kinda shuts down and wont talk about it. Relinquish Guardianship?

My Fiancee took in a 12 year old 6 years ago. He is a son of an ex friend that could not properly take care of him. His biological Dad now lives literaly down the street from us. He's been married now for 4 years and has been alcohol free for 5 years. They spend alot of time together now he usually spends the entire weekend at his dad's house. In the past year we have been having ALOT of problems with him in our home. We go to therapy once a week and the therapist says he has Oppositional Defiant Disorder which is very difficult to break and deal with. I really think it is in the best interest of everyone at this point to relinquish guardianship back to his biological dad. We also have a biological child that is 2 and an adopted 5 year old. We want to have another child but I am not willing to until the things with A (don't want to use his name) get figured out. actually, you wouldn't be eligible for an L-2 visa under legal guardianship no matter what your age is. you would have to be formally adopted. so, maybe you can't go to a public school there on an F-1, but you could go to a private school on that visa, and they are much more likely to be willing to issue you an I-20 and register you in SEVIS.

You live in another state, your state will not allow him to get welfare, your insurance will not allow him on your policy, you and your mother are into pipe dreams not reality, he is a danger to your sister and his sibling, what he needs is a mental health placement not bleeding heart relatives who have no real idea of what his problems are nor the real resources to help him in any meaningful way. If there is a mental health facility designed for children in his state of residence then try to get him accepted there and help with the costs. He has a history of medication for disfunctional behavior and I am willing to bet he refuses to take his meds now which is more than half of his problem. If the best his home state has to offer is foster care that is too bad but cannot be helped. It is a tragedy but then I suspect so was his conception to a co-dependent mother and an abusive father.

I think my friend might be possessed?

I need help! I'm really scared for my best friend. I don't know if she really is possessed or maybe just is under so much stress she might be going insane. It started when her mom and her sister got into a big fight and she defended her sister... After that her mom threatened to disown her and her dad already disowned her about a year ago (her mom and her dad are divorced). For awhile I know she's had really no friends and animals are unusually attracted to her. He was indicted on aggravated incest and the children were placed in my care thank god. My mother of course has once again taken his side and is lying to the cops and judges and state etcetera. I recently found out that a DNA test shows that he is not the biological father to her. Is it possible to keep the charge of aggravated incest because he thought this was his child at the time of the crime? If it was to be dropped what possible charges could we look at that will also carry a lengthy sentence. I also found out that in Louisiana i have 30 years after turning 18 to pursue my charges i only hesitate because his defense is that i coached my niece into lying which i believe will prove differently with the forensic interview. There was no penetration so we only have the interview to go on form the minor which I’m not allowed to hear but have heard from the DA that we have a strong case. For the past year and a half I have been singing lower notes, and totally got out of the habit of practicing the high notes. I’ve been married with my husband for 4 years now. My husband has a daughter and I’ve know my step daughter since she was 1. My husband was unfaithful to me and we are trying to work things out. I feel confused with working things out and stuff. Now a big issue came into the picture to top it off. My step-daughters grandparents lied to the court and forged my hubby’s signature giving up his rights so that they can get legal guardianship for my step-daughter. I am 17 years old, 2 months pregnant. Living in wyoming with my aunt at the moment and my boyfriend who is 19. My mother lives in Tennessee and has for 2 years now. How can I gain more freedom as a 16 year old teen ?

I am a 16 year old girl (17 years next Feb). Tonight I am going to discuss with my mom about giving me more freedom. It's summer and i've barely been out. I've been stuck at home watching my sister. I would like to be able to go to the beach with my friends, or someones house. The only thing is, is that I only have a few girl-friends and they're either busy, don't have money, or on vacation. So the only people left are my guy friends (which I tend to have more of). But my parents don't let me go to a guys house and I can't afford to go to the movies or out to eat every time we hang out. I've never been to a party either and I'd like to experience it. I hate alcohol and drugs and I would never do that (and my parents know that) I feel that when I'm 18 that I am going to go wild and rebel and I don't want to do that. That's why I would like some freedom now. I want my parents to trust me, and that they have raised me well and I have a good head on my shoulders. Subs stopped working! Haaaalp?

I'm defintely not a fan of Sony BUT their stuff is usually good as far as functionality/dependability goes so I would be surprised if the amp just "went bad". Overheating could be an issue BUT I've had numerous amps in socal (including a Sony) where it gets well over 100F and I've never had an amp overheat. Try checking the main fuse (inline with the power wire under the hood)....sometimes those blow but "re-fuse" and allow enough power through to turn on the amp but enough power to power the subs. Also, make sure you don't have the subs wired up to 1ohm...that could potentially cause the amp to fail (especially when combined with high temps). If the fuses are all good and the subs are wired up to 2ohms or more then it very well may just be that the amp went bad (I had a Polk Momo "go bad" 3 days after I bought it, then I replaced it with a new one and it has worked fine for about the last 4 years).

The only reason CPS would get involved is if the baby was born with drugs in its system or you have had other children taken away. But if you sign over custody to someone else CPS would probably investigate them to make sure they are not one drugs and the home is suitable for a child. If everything looked ok then no they wouldnt take the child away.

How do you find the starting note in vocal harmony?

I'm in a alternative/punk band and I play guitar and sing background. And the main thing about background vocals are harmonies. I can write great harmonies but the problem for me is how to find that starting note, and also how to stay on track with the harmony phrase so I don't get off track. This is so difficult for me, I've been practicing it and I have gotten better. Is this weird (question about piano playing esp. in the left hand)?

Okay i am a right handed piano player and have a weird problem about improvising / song writing on the piano. Like I play the notes very well i think and come up with some pretty creative notes and even progressions or whatnot. But i have a problem with trying to make the rhythm and such. Like you know how songs play like an eighth note in the treble clef and then a quarter note, and they play like a half note in the bass? I have a problem cause i get attached to playing chords and starting the melody at the same time as the harmony, and is there any way that i can quit this? Like i want to be able to play single notes down there but i have trouble with the timing, especially in the left hand.. I have a 21 yr old and my spouse have a 2 yr old.Im expected to clean,,cook and care for the children when they are here, father is sleeping, works nights, that's fine.They are a joy,we had fun,but when they were not allowed to get their way(safety reasons, money, or i was sick)i was treated awful.Now, they don't listen, they yell at me,or cause my daughter harm,or yell and fight each other, i try to stop it,they wake their dad up & start making up stuff &wine to their dad, he starts calling me names, yelling at me.I hate to even say this, it hurts.They've lied on me to get their way with the other parents,played one against the other taught my 2 yr old curse words,hit her a few times, yell at her for crying, when i say something or try to give them a time out, they wake their dad up saying a bunch of lies then all three of them starts yelling at me!Ive went without food ,baths,basic Hygiene stuff because their dad gives them everything they want and himself what he wants most of the time,when they get something they just toss it, in meantime im doing without some of my medications, doctors visits. husband will only do things with kids. i medically cannot drive but im not dead and still young, i do what i can, I feel used by them,ive given money to their mom to help her out with so many things,(a christian southern gal) just because i thought it was the right thing to do..I keep giving into my husbands demands but i think dog pee is treated better than this.I believe in my vows, want to continue to love and cherish my family, but im getting a bad taste in my mouth now and beginning to get fed up with being expected to be someones maid while everyone tears up our home, treats me badly, oh yes, spouse even throws items of mine away without asking, important expensive stuff of mine , he doesn't even care when i say something. Ive talked, cried pleated begged tried to change everything i do, but the only thing that's changed is that im not the smiling, happy, girl anymore.I love them, but its affecting my health so bad and preventing me from doing things with the 2 yr old that i want to be doing.We've went to dinner twice since our honeymoon in 2007, hes had an affair in 2008and put us in bankruptcy. He isn't having an affair now,but maybe hes cloned me into a pushover and broke my spine. When i talk with him about it and make suggestions or let him make suggestions he tells m e everything is my fault and none of them do anything wrong. He left me unconscious twice on the floor few years ago , mom ended up getting me.Kind of scary.But he had an excuse or made it sound like i didn't know what i was talking about that he had to quickly care for the 2 yr old, i vaguely remember trying to crawl on porch and pressing my alarm button, that's when my mom came and i ended up in hospital for a few weeks. What's it like going to live with another family member?

I think your grandparents are older and wiser. I'm a single mom of 3. We lived w/my mom for a while. We now have our own place own bedrooms backyard it's nice but my kids would love to live back at grandmas. Seeing as you lived with them sine birth and enverytings been good for you, you should stay. Being so young you need to feel safe and loved. Sorry babe but I thats how I feel. Anyone can have a baby, its who TAKES CARE of you that is important.

Keyboard Harmony Exam?

I can't speak from personal experience, because i prepare my students for written theory exams and not these ones, it's just what i'm more familiar and comfortable with. i have a friend though who's been teaching for probably 30 yrs, and quite experienced with theory, and she prefers these exams to the written ones. according to her, the students find these exams easier than the written ones. to be encouraging though, it's been my experience that when a student clearly cares as much about how well they do as you do, then they care enough to prepare themselves well for examinations. to give you a bit of general advice though, played exams tend to go better when you're relaxed through the process, so try not to work yourself up too much:) good luck!

You were or are not smitten with "him", you are smitten with what you saw in him. You don't even know him so you cannot say you were smitten with him. Once you really know someone then perhaps you can say that. So take what it is you liked about him and look for those traits in someone else. He comes into your head because you liked what you did see. Just keep in mind that was a tiny part of who he is. And one should never be smitten with first impressions because those could easily be faked.

Avira Antivir Personal Webguard Question?

I use Avira Antivir Personal - Free Antivirus. Recently, they had an update for Webguard, and I accidentally installed a toolbar that came with it. I still have the toolbar enabled in Firefox, but I set it so it doesn't appear. Am I still being protected by Webguard? Would I still be protected by Webguard if I removed (uninstalled) the toolbar altogether? Thanks in advance.

I'm the Aunt, can the father take baby?

My sister recently gave me her baby, as she no longer wants to be a mother (yea, she's wonderful person *sarcasism*). The baby's dad IS NOT on birth certificate, does he have any rights to her? Can he try to take her away form me if I get custody? I don't know much about him other than he's a woman beater (beat my sister when she was pregnant), and has another child that he is not allowed to be around (per the courts). Can the dad do anything to screw up adoption or custody of my niece? I am going to start with guardianship, but that's all I know where to start.

Is this just my monthly PMS acne or Herpes?

A week before I get my period I get a little acne around my lips and on my chin & nose. My boyfriend of 9 years thinks I have Herpes because I get hormonal acne once a month. We first started having sex 8 years ago & it's always been protected - except for anal sex & bj's - and we also got STD tests & we were both good. I never cheated on him nor have I drank after anyone. FYI: my boyfriend is a neat/germ freak. I plan on getting an STD test to settle this b/c I understand him being protective. :-) What are the symptoms of Herpes and are STD tests free b/c I don't have insurance? Does it sounds like Herpes or just PMS acne??? I need confirmation. ;-)

My girlfriends mom hurts her (mentally and physically)?

My gf and I are in a long distance relationship and constantly on the phone or while were on skype I hear my girlfriends mom Screaming, yelling and crying at the top of her lungs at her. My gf is one of the kindest and most loving people I have ever met. We have been together for 2 years. I am 23 while she is still in university. We are long distance and when she's off for the summer or breaks she has to stay at home. She says she hates it there and cries most nights about how her mom treats her. (btw its just her mom and my gf in the house). She says her mom is Bipolar and I believe her. Where I am looking for opinions on is just the other night we were on skype, my gf was in her room crying while her mom screamed through the house at her. Yelling for no reason at all (this is common). I tell her to not take it to heart, that it is the disorder yelling and saying those things; and just focus on our future together a place away from all of this. Her mom then came in her room and I saw my gf defending herself from her mom. Her mom was trying to do something. I couldn't tell by how the laptop laid on her bed but I could see my gf trying to hold her moms hands away from her. Shortly after, my gf turned around and shut the laptop. I don't want to think anything would ever happen to where her mom would hurt her but since I am not there (700 miles away) I can't protect her or have her come live with me. I am afraid if I call the police (unanimously) that it will cause so much emotional stir up that it will cause more unrest when the police leave. And that they will eventually figure it out that I called and reported abuse. I am at a loss. This happens about once every 1-3 months. No one should have to live in a house like that. Ok, so..hmm. i've seen the prices for in vitro procedures, but what if the situation is a little different. Let's say a lesbian couple wants to have a child, but they dont want to go thru the problem of having preference of one kid over the other if they use sperm donors...so they want to use one of the girl's eggs fertilize it and put it into the other girl, i've heard that this way both of the parents have legal guardianship of the baby and in my opinion it's seemed as the baby is actually from both parents...my question is? is this procedure the same price as in vitro??

its okay every one makes mistakes. that you cant worry about now. if he's denying the baby already things can get really messy. before you start stressing over that, think about your baby. your baby whether you keep it or not will be harmed due to your stress. yes you can still get a job while recieving 350.00 a month. dont let them know that though, they may try to lower your pay. your baby is your baby. so itll be considered your child. yes you can you can take an adult, you can go by yourself but take an adult because im 17 and 7 weeks pregnant and i dont understand alot. no you dont need permission but think hard about it. you dont want a child knocking on your door 20 years from here asking why you gave them up. keep your baby. work and go to school itll be hard but please please please stay in school.

Why do human beings place such a great importance on companionship of the opposite sex?

It's a part of life for most people. If people didn't date, there would be no marriages and no babies being born. I agree that dating brings about those types of emotions that you listed, but life is full of emotions. That's just how it is. If dating isn't for you, then that's ok. You have that right, but that's not going to stop others from doing so.

How to deal with certain sexual abuse situation, any input is appreciated?

I recently posted a similar question but would like to hear any further advice also I had other information to include. I gained guardianship of my niece and nephew through the state because my niece was being sexually abused by her father (my brother). As a child i was molested by this same man and my mother never protected me. She told me i couldn’t tell and that this was normal. If I disagreed with her there was physical abuse. My niece and nephew lived with thier father at my mothers house at the time of the abuse. Let me add that the childrens mother is in and out of jail and has abandoned these children. I am now 33 and married with a family of my own. My brother that did this to me has been in and out of jail (not for this) charges were never brought against him on my situation. Now he has a daughter and i found out from my niece that he was doing this to her. I immediately went to the police and a forensic interview was performed. He was indicted on aggravated incest and is in jail awaiting trial. The children were placed in my care, thank god. My mother of course has once again taken his side and is lying to the cops and judges and state etcetera. In the forensic interview it was found out that my mother was allowing my niece to sleep in the bed with her father after my niece told her what was happening, also she was “checking” her bottom my niece says to see if she had been touched. I am trying to push the chance that she may be charged with Passive sexual abuse. I recently found out that a DNA test shows that he is not the biological father to her. Is it possible to keep the charge of aggravated incest because he thought this was his child at the time of the crime? If it was to be dropped what possible charges could we look at that will also carry a lengthy sentence. I also found out that in Louisiana i have 30 years after turning 18 to pursue my charges i only hesitate because his defense is that i coached my niece into lying which i believe will prove differently with the forensic interview. There was no penetration so we only have the interview to go on form the minor which I’m not allowed to hear but have heard from the DA that we have a strong case. I am not sure if it is a good idea to go ahead with my charges because i certainly don’t want him out and able to ever harm anyone else but I fear that they will think i am just trying to target him or get revenge. Usually in these cases that happened so long ago it is hard to prove because there would be no physical evidence, however in my case I have an eye witness willing to testify. If you’re wondering why after all these years? I have suppressed this for so long and when it happened to my niece not only did it bring back the memories of what I went through but I know that there is a pattern and he is never going to stop. I don’t want him to be able to ever harm anyone else again. As far as my mother, there is a restraining order on her for my entire household because of the death threats on me and my children.
