Adoption Question--Biological Father Wanting DNA?

Okay.. I will try to sum this up as much as possible. I went to school with a Girl who told Me that Her Cousin was giving Her Baby up for adoption. My Husband & I became interested.. We've been through foster care classes & Have been unable to have a child of Our own. We met the Mother, She seen Our house & The nursery & Decided She'd like for Us to adopt the Baby. She was almost due with Him when I found this out. I went to the hospital with Her, Seen the Baby Boy born, Took care of Him in the hospital the whole time. She signed Him over to Me to leave with Him from the hospital & Met with Me to sign over all of Her rights, Etc. He's 9 days old & We planned to file Guardianship tomorrow. That is the next step to adoption & The adoption agency told Me to do that & Get our homestudy right away. The whole time the Father has been pretty much unknown. The biological Mother said He's into pills & Drugs badly. She hasn't heard from Him in 4 months & Today His MOTHER called the Bio Mom & Said She needs to tell Her if the Baby is here & So on. She said Their going downtown to file for DNA. If in fact They do this, Will they take Him from Us & Put Him into foster care while the DNA is pending? Does anyone know what will happen? Me & My Family have become so attached & To think that He may be taken from Us, Really breaks My heart. :(
